DIET THERAPY
When blood sugar is too low, the adrenal glands secrete the hormone cortisol and the pituitary glands secrete adrenocorticotropic hormone, both of which in turn stimulate the tiverto release glyoogen (in the body, sugar is converted and stored as glycogen)r In healthy individuals, this system works perfectly; however, when it is dysfunctional, these swmgs can create problems.Too much or too little of either hormone stresses the body. For example, an over consumption of highly refined foods, especially sugar and refined flour, can affect Ih pancreas ability to regulate blood-sugar levels through insuli secretion possibly leading to potential disease states, chif among them Type II diabetes.
By choosing a complete comprehensive meal plan and exercise NIDDM can be prevented or reversed and the impaci of IDDf may be minimized.
DIETARY MANAGEMENT INCLUDES:
- Individual dietary requirements and goal related to the deisirable weight.
- Past history and food habits
